DocuMinimal Privacy Policy

Go Minimal Tech · Effective date: November 7, 2026

In short

DocuMinimal works on your device. We do not collect, store, sell or share your documents or personal information. We run no servers for this app and use no analytics or advertising SDKs. Your files leave your device only when you choose to: when you share them, or when you turn on backup to your own Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account.

Who we are

DocuMinimal for Android (package com.gominimalsoftware.docu) and DocuMinimal for Windows (Microsoft Store, website installer and portable version) are developed by Go Minimal Tech. This policy covers all of them. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@gominimaltech.com.

Your documents

Viewing, editing, signing, scanning, converting, compressing and protecting PDFs all happen locally on your device. The documents you open or create, your signatures, stamps and scan originals are stored in the app's private storage or in places you choose, and we cannot access them.

On Windows, the app runs a small local component that is reachable only from your own computer and is protected by a random key; it does not accept connections from the network. Scans and new PDFs are saved in the folder you choose in Settings. The portable version keeps all its data in a folder next to the app.

Text recognition (OCR)

Recognizing the text of scanned pages happens entirely on your device, with language data built into the app. Pages and recognized text are never sent to us or to any online service.

Comments and digital signatures

Comments you add are saved inside the PDF, with the name you enter as their author. Anyone you share the file with can read them.

Certificates for digital signatures stay on your device: personal certificates and imported .pfx/.p12 files are kept in the app's private storage, protected with your password on Windows and in the Android Keystore on Android; certificates from the Windows certificate store or installed on your phone are used where they are. Signing a PDF puts your name, the signing time, and the certificate (including any email address or organization in it) into the file, so whoever receives it can check the signature. Checking signatures happens on your device; DocuMinimal does not contact certificate authorities.

Camera

The camera (on Windows, your webcam) is used only to scan documents when you open the scanner. Images are processed on your device and are never sent to us.

Optional cloud backup

Backup is off by default. If you turn it on, edited and scanned documents are uploaded directly from your device to a folder named “DocuMinimal files” in your own cloud account. They are not sent to us.

Sign-in tokens are kept on your device (on Windows, encrypted with your Windows account) and are used only to upload your backups. All transfers use encrypted HTTPS connections. You can turn backup off at any time in Settings, and revoke access from your Google or Microsoft account settings. Files already backed up stay in your cloud account until you delete them.

DocuMinimal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google APIs is used only to provide the backup feature, is not transferred to anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans.

Purchases (Windows)

DocuMinimal Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the Microsoft Store. We never see your payment details. The app only asks Windows whether Pro has been purchased with your Microsoft account, and remembers the answer on your device so Pro keeps working offline. Microsoft processes purchases under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Free tries of Pro features (Windows)

DocuMinimal for Windows lets you try some Pro features (Office conversion, AI Enhance and text recognition) a few times for free. To count the tries, the app stores only how many of each you have used. It keeps this number on your device: in the app's data folder and in Windows Credential Manager. If you have turned on OneDrive backup, it also keeps the number in a small file in the app's own folder in your OneDrive (Apps/DocuMinimal), so the count follows your Microsoft account. The number is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it contains nothing about you or your documents.

Information we do not collect

Sharing and other apps

When you share, print or open a document in another app, that app or service handles the file under its own privacy policy. We do not share any data with third parties.

Deleting your data

All app data is on your device. You can delete files inside the app, or remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. On Windows, uninstalling from Settings › Apps removes the app; you can also delete the app's data folder, or simply delete the portable folder. Backups in your cloud account can be deleted from Google Drive or OneDrive.

Children

DocuMinimal is a general productivity app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
